Why did you write a faith-based romance novel?
For me writing faith-based stories is a ministry God has called me to. As a Christian, my purpose on this earth is to know God and make Him known to all men in all nations. This is the ministry of reconciliation God has given to all Christians and writing is one of the ways I can fulfill this calling. I [also] love love and I know many [other] people do too, so why not?
What part of the process did you enjoy the most when writing Ready to Be Loved by You?
Writing the Pidgin dialogues and the romantic dialogues between Levi and Vivienne. Pidgin is a national language in Nigeria and it was so much fun including it in my book so that non-Nigerians can also experience our culture.
If you had to choose a favorite character in Ready to Be Loved by You, who would it be?
Definitely, Levi. He’s the perfect cinnamon roll MMC. I love how quick he was to accept his wrongs and apologize, [including] the way he gave grace to Vivienne when she was being difficult. [However], what I love about him the most, apart from his relationship with the Lord, is how much of a hopeless romantic he is and how he isn’t afraid to show it.
How do you want people to feel after they’ve read your novel?
Much more than enjoying a swoony love story, I want readers to know that no matter what they have done or said about God, He still wants them. I want them to also know that they can trust God with their lives and obey Him completely and they won’t be disappointed because He loves them so much and wants the best for them.
