For fans of Lynette Eason and Jessica R. Patch, a dark thriller in which a constable must confront her secret past as the daughter of an infamous serial killer while investigating a series of copycat crimes seemingly connected to a growing cult.

Determined to outrun her violent childhood, Constable Oaklynn Brock moved to a sleepy northern Ontario community, thinking she could finally move on. She’s desperate to leave behind the fact she’s the daughter of the serial killer known as the Suicide Slayer. But when a series of suspicious deaths hit her small city of Kenorapeake Falls and her sergeant tasks her to lead the investigation and work with a special task force—the Canadian Watchers Squad–Oaklynn is horrified to realize the deaths seem to have been committed by a Suicide Slayer copycat. While Caleb comes up with a plan to go undercover in the cult to obtain more information to help bring them down, the killer toys with Oaklynn. She receives texts stating they know her identity as the Suicide Slayer’s daughter and threaten to expose her. More deaths are discovered in positions matching Oaklynn’s father’s kills, and The Protégé reveals himself as the copycat, mocking Oaklynn with messages carved on each victim. When Oaklynn wakes up and sees a lily tattoo on her neck—her mother’s favorite flower, she realizes that someone drugged her and entered her home. She takes refuge with Caleb and his family at a secluded cottage, but she can’t shake the feeling someone’s watching.
